Amianne Huffman, PA-C, is a San Diego native with 10 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, all in primary care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of California, San Diego, and her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Her passion for caring for others began before PA school, when she worked as an EMT and gained experience in the emergency room. She always knew she wanted a career in medicine that would allow her to work directly with patients, and after completing her training, primary care was exactly where she wanted to be.
She enjoys the variety that primary care offers, with special interests in women’s health, perimenopause and menopause, geriatrics, weight management, and mental health. She is passionate about preventive care and early disease detection, as well as helping patients effectively manage chronic health conditions.
She believes the best healthcare is a partnership. Her goal is to work alongside each patient to understand their individual needs and health goals while providing thoughtful recommendations based on the best available medical evidence. She values creating a comfortable environment where patients feel heard, informed, and actively involved in decisions about their care.
Her dedication to her patients has been recognized with the Top Advanced Practice Clinician Award for Patient Satisfaction in both 2024 and 2025.
Born and raised in San Diego, she is proud to care for patients in the community she has always called home. Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children.
Jennifer Lyons, PA-C, brings 25 years of experience in primary care to Internal Medicine & Pediatrics of San Diego. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Jen earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Nursing and Psychology from Elmhurst College before completing her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2001. She relocated to San Diego in 2008 and has spent much of her career caring for patients in the San Diego community.
One of the things Jen values most about primary care is the opportunity to build lasting relationships with her patients and their families. She enjoys getting to know her patients over the years, understanding what is important to them, and being a trusted partner through the many different stages of their lives.
Jen enjoys the broad scope of primary care and has particular interests in preventive medicine, migraines, weight management, mental health, women’s health and menopause, and helping patients manage both acute and chronic health concerns. Her approach is individualized, recognizing that being healthy means something different for every patient.
At the center of Jen’s philosophy is a simple goal: to work together with her patients to help them live their happiest and healthiest lives. She believes patients should feel heard, comfortable asking questions, and actively involved in decisions about their health.
Jen’s commitment to her patients has been recognized with the Top Advanced Practice Clinician Award for Patient Satisfaction in both 2024 and 2025.
Outside of medicine, Jen enjoys spending time with her two children and embracing the Southern California community she has called home since 2008.
